Why a new horse magazine? Why digital?
And why separate articles?
There is still a huge gap between what horses are trying to communicate and what we understand. But this is starting to change! It is becoming increasingly important for horse people to understand their horses, partly because we want them to be as happy as possible, but also because people are searching for a stronger, deeper and more honest relationship with their horse or horses.
But it’s not always easy to navigate
what can sometimes feel like a jungle where advice spreads like wildfire and often contradicts itself… it’s easy to feel confused and overwhelmed—all you want is a few exercises and a better understanding, somewhere to start. And that is exactly why EqH Magazine was created.
The equestrian world is also known for being a harsh and judgmental place where choosing an unconventional path—one that involves a more humble approach and significantly greater collaboration with the horse— can be quite challenging. EqH Magazine is one of the leading voices working towards making this shift a safe one. Together that we make a difference.
When we dare to make the choice to let our horse or horses find and use their unique voice, something truly exciting happens—even if it can sometimes be a little painful at first. If this is something new in your relationship, prepare yourself mentally with the right knowledge and understanding. Often, horses first turn their backs at us when they’re allowed to have an opinion. Maybe they walk the other way, don't want to leave the pasture or don’t want to go into the riding arena at all. It’s not because of you. They’ll come back, and the new relationship that’s growing between you is built on a foundation that’s stable, sustainable, robust, and honest.
Horses want us to be honest, to be ourselves. They also want us to find our own inner peace and self-esteem; when we feel good, it’s comfortable for them to be around us. And isn’t there something special about being in a safe herd? It almost feels like their energy is contagious. And it is. Horses constantly regulate themselves naturally and ensure that the entire herd is in a state known as Heart Coherence, which is a harmonious and balanced state of mind. They always strive for this state unless they need to react to external stimuli. So it’s no wonder we feel a warm, cozy calm feeling literally wash over us when we’re near these exceptional creatures.
Horses are also absolutely phenomenal at pushing us to grow as people, but we don’t always realize it...
EqH Magazine is a magazine that shares new research, ancient wisdom, fascinating conclusions and insights, heartwarming stories, and practical tips and facts. The magazine covers topics such as Body Work, sustainable riding, communication, different paths to a closer and deeper relationship, the horse’s language and signals, stories about people who have forged their own paths, energy work, hoof care, fascia, knowledge of the nervous system, and so much more.
We have chosen to keep the magazine digital in order to reach as many people as possible in an easy and convenient way. And to further accommodate the understanding and respect for your time - we share articles, not a whole magazine.
So instead of you having to chew through masses amounts of information, we portion it out in easy reads. However, we do love to emerge ourselves, really go into the depths of things so there will be longer reads when you are up for it. When you subscribe you get the articles straight in your mailbox for you to read whenever it's convenient.
Soon you will also be able to listen to the articles - perhaps in the car ride home from the stable?
EqH Magazine was created partly so that horses can feel better and have a life that is more meaningful and tailored to them as individuals, but also so that we humans can create a more rewarding time together with the animals we love so dearly.
With the right knowledge, an open and curious mind, a willingness to learn and understand, and with great humility and patience (both with the horses and with ourselves), we will find the answers that make a difference. For real.
You are warmly, warmly welcome to join us on this journey of discovery toward clarity and understanding, compassion, and personal growth.
